Easy Indian Lentil (Dahl) Recipe:
Rinse the lentils and place in a medium saucepan. Add about one quart of water. Bring to a boil and simmer until done, approximately 45 minutes. 1 cup of any type of lentils1 1/2 tablespoons oil½ teaspoon cumin seeds½ teaspoon salt¼ teaspoon turmeric½ teaspoon dry mustard2 cloves garlic, mincedA pinch of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes2 cups cooked white rice
