aping for a day at the City of Alkmaar
Alkmaar is great for a day tour as its only a few miles outside of its more popular counterpart, Amsterdam. Alkmaar has many interesting sights and sounds to offer the tourist especially since its considered as the cheese capital of Holland. More than cheese, they also have many historical museums worth the visit such as the City Museum of Alkmaar, the National Beer Museum, a Beatles Museum since John Lennons first guitar was apparently made here, and of course, the Holland Cheese Museum. The cheese market in Waagplein cant be found on any other day but Friday. The market is open every Friday from April to September, during which different cheeses are weighed for spectators. But the actual buying takes place in the specialized stores surrounding the area. The city is one huge mall for shopping as different shops, boutiques, cafes quite unique from the typical Amsterdam gift shops are found here. After which, relax in their many open terraces and restaurants in the area.
When Transportation is a No-no in Amsterdam
Although cycling is the preferred transportation mode of most Amsterdammers, visiting tourists should first try walking through the village the first time to get a more slow-paced perspective of their lifestyles and the hidden attractions that are found within their walls. Walking is a great way to see the city because most of the attractions are close enough to each other that its possible to do so anyway. When youre already gifted with a great navigational system and discipline, then a map is the only thing youll ever need on the walking expedition. Otherwise [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], one might one to go through a guided tour as a better option. The Board has many walking tours going to the Joordan District or the Amsterdam City Centre, as well as De Pijp or its Jewish District. A guided tour will take about 3 to 4 hours to complete and its more reasonably priced than any other tour out there where one has to pay for bus, car or cycling transportation.
Where to go for an Educational Excursion in Amsterdam
Amsterdam has one of the largest collection of museums, so careful are they to preserve their culture which blends so many types of history from different perspectives. Delve into the fields of science, history, architecture [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], art and local customs, depending on which ones are more important to visit for you. When art is concerned, theres the Van Gogh Museum in Centrum or the Rembrandthuis which allows visitors to take a peek of what these two artists were like and how their paintings influenced Dutch Culture. For those who are into more contemporary art, visit the Foam Photography Museum or the Netherlands Media Art, as well as ARCAM or the Amsterdam Centre for Architecture for a look at futuristic design. For those who want a glimpse of Amsterdams history in different eras, there are many museums to choose from such as the Dutch Resistance Museum which chronicles the movements of the Resistance in WWII or the Amsterdam Historical Museum. And for those who want a womans perspective on history, check out their Museum of Bags and Purses which has a wide collection from the Middle Ages. There are still so many to choose from, always worth the visit to have a different taste of Amsterdam every time.
Where to do Business in Amsterdam
Because Amsterdam has grown so tremendously in terms of tourism, its no wonder that more and more business ventures are coming along. Along with this is the appearance of many business travelers in the area, from those who go in for casual meetings to larger corporate gatherings. Hotels and other special accommodations in the area also have different meeting and function rooms to assist their business guests [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], along with a business center equipped with fax and internet connection for ease. Unique places in Amsterdam also provide a good setting for a casual drink or a sitdown with potential clients such as through a theater turned into a convention area,
