reasingly, we find ourselves living in a world with copious amounts of accessibility. This accessibility can come in many forms. Through the internet, we have a portal to more information than could be held in any library, but we find that not all of that information is correct. Through supersonic jets, we can get from place to place faster than ever before, yet the impact it has on our surroundings is harsh. One grand spiral

One thing very often leads to another, and slowly we end up replacing the ability to see the loved one every so often with increasingly regular phone calls instead, sometimes even using mobile phones or more expensive options when cheaper ones seem too inconvenient. Only when the phone bill comes do most realise just how much they've ended up spending on cheap calls to Canada.
In many cases, instead of spending a ridiculous amount on cheap international calls, it would be far more beneficial in the long run to save just a little bit of it and maybe even be able to take a trip over to visit them with those savings. Also, other free methods of keeping in touch may work just as well, such as email, or even experimenting with VoIP.
Cheap calls to Canada are supposed to be cheap, but without being careful, can easily end up becoming expensive. Just as anything, there needs to be a proper balance between what we can do, what we should do, and what we can afford to do. Finding that balance is, of course, easier said than done, however it is just one of those things that needs to be learnt along the way. We all love our loved ones, but reality does tend to intrude at times.
