There are tons of horror films that fall into the cabin in the woods plot device (April Fools Day, Friday the 13th,Jordan Flight 45, Sleepaway Camp, Evil Dead and Cabin Fever just to name a few). Not many take place in the winter though. In fact, very few horror films have anything to do with snow or winter. A winter landscape then becomes an original concept quite instantly, making Dead Snow stand out.
There seems to be a revitalization of the zombie genre. Movies like Zombieland, Diary of the Dead, and 28 Days Later hit the big screen with varied success. The market for zombie movies is definitely there as Hollywood continues to pump out sequels and original material year after year. Even AMC is cashing in on the zombie fad, by premiering a zombie mini series titled The Walking Dead. With so many films flooding the genre it's easy to become desensitized and oblivious to an original,Jordan Retro 7, well-made zombie movie. Is Dead Snow a zombie film that got lost in the wake of flashy,Jordan Retro 1, high budget movies or does it fall short of its undead competition?

Dead Snow / D?d Sn? (2009)
The thing about Dead Snow is that you're not supposed to take it too seriously. The film does not hold back any gore or ridiculous one liners and this in turn makes for an entertaining movie. Though, there are some moments where you wish that the film would take itself a bit more seriously because it does, in fact, have some truly creepy moments amongst the bad jokes and over the top death scenes. The opening montage sets the viewer up for what looks to be an outstandingly shot, well paced and unnerving movie - but the film takes a turn for the goofy rather quickly. This isn't bad, but it does leave the viewer wanting a bit more.
A group of friends vacation deep in the woods. What is supposed to be an idyllic ski trip in the wilderness turns into a frightening and bloody encounter with zombies. These aren't ordinary zombies however, they are smart,Air Jordan 16.5 Team, fast and they are Nazis.
