mail or not to mail - will it really make a inconsistency?
Catherine was looking for a commerce critic for a rank that had been blank for 4 weeks. She was eager to rent, but ambitioned the right person in the job. She had lessened the field to three candidates, Jim, Kelly, and Steven.
She had promised to shriek them along Friday [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and on Wednesday p.m. she was still vacillating. Each had a strength she was seeing for, but every too had some issues that had made her stand back and be objective. Jim had held several jobs in the final few years. Would he mallet around for the tough times forward? Kelly was intent, but didn't have the depth of experience interacting with difficult folk. And [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Steven was the quiet type who didn't reveal himself enough for her to get to know what he could offer, especially interfacing with other divisions and working under pressure.
When Catherine opened her email that morn she had 42 emails. She had glimpsed over them and thought she had looked Jim's name within the many, but hadn't taken the time to peruse it. She had 17 voice mails and there was a one from Kelly, but she merely heard long enough to hear that she was thanking her for the interview. She hadn't heard from Jim.
That afternoon, Catherine closed her gate. She was going to grab up and then work on her determination regarding the business analyst position. The premier thing she did was open her mail. Among the send was a letter from Steven. It caught her attention because of the depth she could see he had gone to. She stopped and read the letter.
Dear Catherine:
Choosing the right candidate is not an easy task and I want you to know I have been in your shoes ahead.
Based on our interview [link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I have done some musing approximately the position and how I could bring joined value to your organization and patronize some of the problems you argued in during the />
What followed was a spreadsheet with the issues Steven had elected up during the interview. He not only identified some of the problems, but also showed how he could be the solution based on quondam experience. As Catherine read the letter she became intrigued, and liked what she read. This fellow not only heard the issues, but he had given them some thought and did some inquiry - looked further what was said. This was a trait she was questing. She wanted to talk to him again.
The follow-up, thank you, letter is more than a pleasing "thank you because the interview." It is one extra opportunity for you to sell yourself, and to differentiate them what you can do for them. Don't imagine the interviewer remembers anything you said. When three candidates are interviewed and likened, some of the highlights you wished would be considered, got lost alternatively forgotten. Remind them of what you can do for them
