1998 World Series of Poker was an event that had a lot of tall expectations after the surprising event that had taken location the year before. The World Series of Poker in 1997 featured Stu Ungar’s comeback from his drug addiction to play. He made his comeback with a bang and was able to take the entire tournament. That story had many hoping that Ungar would be able to vibrate his habit permanently.

After the triumph the before year it seemed that he would have the strength to overcome the issues that had plagued him fjust about long. That year Ungar would finally pass away. The venue would later celebrate his life and achievements. Although he was not skillful to play and his necrosis was forthcoming, there were numerous shine blots in the tournament.
Among the bright spots was the fact that the tournament continued to grow. There were 350 entrants in the tournament and the level of emulation was higher than ever. The excitement circling the tournament was clearly growing and the popularity of the event was slowly preparing for the burst that was to come.
With so many players by tables the field understandably narrowed very fast. Certain players stood out from the rest of the field.
