Favorite restaurants are:
Many Palo Alto residents use the nearby Stanford Campus restaurants as a dining option. In fact, when the nearby downtown Palo Alto restaurants and shops were temporarily closed because of the power outage caused by the plane crash on Feb. 17, 2010 as reported in SFGate.com by Chronicle Staff Writers Jill Tucker, Henry K. Lee, and Nanette Asimov, the Stanford University restaurants provided an alternate solution because the University has its own electrical power.
A suggestion is for visitors to print a list of these restaurants and map in advance to use. These tools are available on the Stanford University website or by going to the Visitors Center located on campus. The Marguerite shuttle is free transportation to use on campus to ride to the different restaurants and attractions.
These excellent eateries and cafes each offer different culinary tastes and are scattered throughout the 8,180 acre Stanford University campus. Many of these restaurants are operated by local well known food enthusiasts.
There are several dining options located at Tressider Memorial on the Main Quad like the Union Square Restaurant which is open for all three meals. Be sure to verify the hours because Union Square does close for a short period between breakfast/lunch and lunch/dinner.
