Ellen DeGeneres hosts The Ellen DeGeneres Show and was also a judge on the hit tv show American Idol. Ellen is a stand-up comedian, actress and tv host who was born on January 26, 1958.
Ellen DeGeneres was the host of several shows such as the Academy Awards and Primetime Emmys. She acted in the movie Mr. Wrong, EDtv and also The Love Letter.
Ellen was the voice of Dory in the hit animated Disney-Pixar film Finding Nemo. She was awarded a Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actress in that film being the first and only time a voice performance a Saturn Award.
While in the 4th season of Ellen, she decided to go public about her choice to be a lesbian on The Oprah Winfrey Show. Ellen was also the star in 2 other sitcoms, Ellen and the Ellen Show.
Ellen has won several Emmy Awards which included Jordan Flights 45 High, Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series on Ellen, Outstanding Talk Show in 2004, 2005 Jordan Flight 45 High, 2006, 2007, & 2010 for The Ellen DeGeneres Show as well as outstanding talk show host and outstanding special class writing.
Ellen began her career on stage as a stand up comedian in small clubs and coffeehouses. Her touring started in the early 1980's. Showtime named her the Funniest Person in America in 1982 and Johnny Carson had her on the tonight show in 1986.
Ellen DeGeneres created Eleveneleven in 2010 which was her own record label. The record label was named after the number 11 which has important significance to Ellen. Ellen's first person she signed on was Greyson Chance air jordan 11 xi, a 12 year old well known on Youtube for her cover of Lady Gaga's Paparazzi.
DeGeneres married Portia de Rossi on August 16, 2008 at their home with 19 guests including their mothers in Beverly Hills. Her prior relationships were with Another World actress Anne Heche in 1997 and Alexandra Hedison in 2001.
Both Ellen and Portia decided to go without meat and be vegetarians. They own 3 dogs and 4 cats. |
